This is a concept that took me far too long to understand, and most likely has held me back in one way or another. Thankfully, I took a class after college from UO and was convinced by a counselor that I needed to give it a shot. Even though Oregon has had a booming film economy for the last ten years, I always felt the roles in the production field were filled by graduates from USC or NYU, not the University of Oregon. I’ve always had this dream, but never felt it was realistic. When I graduated, I had the dream of getting production assistant jobs. I had just spent four years working toward a degree in a bad economy with no leads. Unfortunately I graduated college in 2010 at the height of the great recession.
